Idents

This screenshot shows how I made my first ident for Barnfield Radio, I really struggled using garage band because the effects didn't sound how I wanted them to and the idents I came up with did not sound the best. I then found a baking track on youtube put it into garage band and added some effects to create the perfect ident.

For this ident I also found a backing track from youtube however this time I went for a more chilled vibe for the ident. I used the keyboard piano to add different effects, for this one I added some drums in the background and then made them quite so it is still a chilled out ident however with my own twist on it.

Today I have learnt how to use garage band, I found it really challenging at first as it is something I had never used before and I wasn't very familiar with it at all. I also did not really like the sounds and effects that garage band provides as most of them you either have to pay for or they weren't working. I played my peers the first ident that they made they all seemed to enjoy it however some of them said that the music is too loud when the voice over is talking which is something I can improve, Based on this feedback from my peers the next time I am making an Ident I need to learn how to adjust the volume at certain points.
Diary entry 30/01/2018
Today we recorded our radio show in the booth, it was very interesting to see how to use all the equipment in a professional setting. While we were waiting to get into the studio we were creating idents and sweepers for our radio show. We decided to share them between each other as then everyone in the group would have a selection of idents and sweepers and they were not over used. Chloe and I also created the quiz that me and Chris would be doing. Tomorrow I will complete my idents and start editing my show.

Today I started editing my radio show, I have been having a lot of fun doing this as its really cool having it all come together and it sound like a real radio show. At first I had some issues with using Adobe audition as some of the buttons were not working for me however I then went and watched a youtube tutorial and got some help from my peers so now I have been finding it less stressful than before.

Evaluation
When reading my peer assessment sheet, I found that the strengths of the show was "fun, good music" and "the presenter styles". I was so happy with these comments because I feel that these are actually two of the most important things for me I was concerned that the presenters were boring and that we had not picked the right type of music for the show. When creating a radio show it is important to have these two qualities as you will gain listening hours. According to my feedback "audio levels for songs" need to be improved also "audio levels for the commentary" this can be easily improved on audition and I am so pleased with the feedback I have recieved as it is something I can easily improve on. I am also going to improve on my fades throughout the show to improve my overall grade. I will be able to make these changes by Wednesdays deadline in tomorrows lesson. Then finishes the rest of my show and make final changes to make it even better.
